HIGHLAND PARK, IL — This spring, the Art Center Highland Park is set to host an exclusive exhibition of work by an renowned artist from a neighboring North Shore town.
Adam Siegel, of Winnetka, is known for his large-scale abstract paintings, which have been exhibited in Amsterdam, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo.
In addition to sold-out art shows, Siegel's work has also been featured on the walls of the Alinea Group's Roister restaurant, in the hit HBO show "Succession" and as part of a 9/11 memorial in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art.
The upcoming Highland Park exhibit — Adam Siegel: Works, on display starting with the Art Center's May 3 benefit and running through June 15 — will feature several new pieces.
“I feel like I’m bouncing back to some of my earliest work, opening new doors, and finding a new imagery that’s really exciting," Siegel said in a statement. "I’m pushing my ego aside and trusting in the process, creating a ‘push-pull’ of different voices." The Art Center will host a free artist reception on May 17, which will be open to the public from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
From my first meeting with Adam I knew we were going to have something incredible," James Lynch, the center's executive director, said in a statement.
“It’s another in a series of wins for the Galleries at TAC as we prove we’re not ‘just a suburban gallery’ but a regional center of growing reputation and importance.”
